About Us
Ken Cave Photography is the husband and wife team of Ken and Angela Cave. With over 16 years of photographic experience, Ken Cave Photography has produced images for a variety of business and personal clients. Ken first began taking photographs professionally when he was dissatisfied with his son’s little league baseball pictures. Because of that experience in 1994, Ken started a part-time photography business to take “Sportraits” which were images of little league baseball players as they were playing, before the practice became popular as it is today.
Today, with both indoor facilities and outdoor capabilities, we can adapt and shoot to a wide variety of our clients’ needs, whether it is a single corporate head shot to a large family group.
We firmly believe that we hold more than just a camera in our hand. Rather, we believe a camera is a passport into someone’s life-focusing that lens to draw out the inner person. It is not just enough to capture an image.
Being born with a camera in your hand is not enough either. While we believe that we have a natural talent for creating and composing great photographs, we also believe that great images and consistency only comes without a lot of hard work and education. Today we spend hours every month on continuing education to increase our craft. Education included creative camera capture and composition, Photoshop techniques, reviews of additional software, plug-ins, lighting modifiers and camera equipment. Additionally, we also continue to pursue advanced lighting techniques and styles for both indoor and outdoor work to meet today’s demanding client and staying up on current trends and styles.
Upon making the switch to digital in 2007, we have completely immersed ourselves into this new era. We have focused a large amount of time an effort in digital workflow, digital capture and post processing using Photoshop and other digital effects and programs. Post processing an image after capture is as important as taking the image in today’s digital world. Knowing how you are going to treat the image in the computer before you actually take the shot requires extensive knowledge of both photography and digital processing techniques.
Ken Cave Photography has also provided commercial and stock photography for a variety of clients. Corporate clients include Solidarity Community FCU, JRF Construction, Rozzi’s Catering and Scared Rabbit Productions. Ken’s stock images have been purchased by Parents Magazine, Indiana University, Harcourt Book Publishers, Travelocity, the University of Wisconsin, the Dept. of Homeland Security, Caldwell VanRiper and others.
